Simon Graeme

Simon Graeme is a creepy old nerd who began writing to scare himself. Scaring others became his calling.

An early life in poverty gave him a dark and gritty view of the world. Growing up in a real haunted house gave him the permanent stain of the macabre that dominates his dark fiction. There are still things that scare him, but the bar is pretty high. Taxes and returning to public education top that list.

Known for The Black Crusade, Freaktown, and the Laughlin’s Legacy series, Simon’s work seeks to devastate readers in all the best ways. Trauma, grief, pain, loss. These are unavoidable aspects of life, but in horror, they become doorways of transformation and revelation. You’ll probably walk away from Simon’s books, but now you’re marked and there’s no going back.

Simon is the Architect of High Manor Press—the keeper of the sigils, the voice that speaks through the Breach, and the first soul marked by the Duchess. Within the mythos, he is a scholar of forbidden archives, a builder of unstable wings, and a man tasked with binding stories too dangerous to leave unguarded. On this side of the Breach, he’s the dark mastermind pulling the strings behind even the darkest fae or eldritch horror. Except Duchess, who walks in all realms.

These days, Simon hides out in southern Illinois with his wife, youngest son, obese cat, and a strange fish that definitely harbors the unrepentant soul of a serial killer.

The goal of every Graeme story is emotional devastation. Anything less would dishonor your scars.
