A book doesn’t flinch from your pain

It opens up.

Grim Faebles is in edits. This anthology is better than I ever expected it could be! I knew I had some great authors, but holy shit. Some of these stories are pure fairy horror delight, perfect blends of dark fantasy and ancestral terror; like s’mores blended over a campfire of fairy magic and burning souls.

Why fairy horror? It’s such a perfect cocktail of folk horror, cosmic horror, and existential horror that speaks to the primal fears in all of us. We respect the raw power of nature, but we’ve never been able to escape that primordial fear associated with it. Be it Celtic fairy lore, indigenous myths, Proto-European traditions, fairies and fairy-like stories pervade every aspect of human society. From the Lakota trickster spider to the old gods of Appalachia, Irish fairy changelings, or abominable keepers of memory and protectors of the fae realms: fairy horror has everything. Pick your pain, or the fae will pick it for you.

And this is all set against the lore-rich world of the High Manor, an American Castles story of a family’s fall from grace and cursed legacy. We’ll meet Terrance Solomen “Omen” Crane and the eldritch tabby, Duchess, as she warns him of the danger of fairies and bargains which even Fate must abide.

The Kickstarter looms ever closer. We are in the contagion spreading phase right now. If you’re reading this, you’re already infected. We don’t apologize. The Kickstarter needs backers and you need chances to win fun, dark things in our upcoming contests.
